Gender diversity

Gender inequality remains a major challenge in machine learning HPC.

The WeatherGenerator Project is committed to actively addressing this imbalance through concrete, sustained action over the entire project duration.

Key Gender & Diversity Actions:

Visibility: We’re celebrating and promoting our diverse team of scientists via dedicated communications-including research bios, videos, and comics.

Networking: Gender Equality Workshops will help empower junior researchers through networking discussions on allyship.

Mentoring: A structured mentorship programme offers all new team members the choice of male or female mentors from within or outside the consortium.

Community Support: We’ll actively engage with initiatives like Women in HPC, WiML, and Pride in STEM, promoting job opportunities and encouraging participation in their events.

Awareness & Accountability: The project will monitor gender representation, participation throughout the project and biases in datasets.

Women Shaping Science

Female scientists from across the WeatherGenerator project share their personal experiences in the scientific world, offering honest reflections on their paths, challenges and achievements. Through short video stories, they highlight the value of gender diversity in research and show how women are driving innovation and shaping the future of science in Europe. Curious? Dive in and explore their stories.
